Manufactured these at the April 08 North Texas Polymer Clay Guild meeting. Laura Griffin taught the lesson, based on a Patricia Kimle tutorial in Stage by Phase Beads journal. (See Laura’s directions here.) I didn’t have any Sculpey Dilutant, so I used mineral oil to thin down my liquid clay combination as a substitute — seemed to work rather nicely.
Many thanks so much to Laura for letting me play with her supplies for my mold-making.

Amanda, thank you for sharing this here! I’ve downloaded it and want to try it. I’m learning to make mini foods from poly clay. My only problem so far, besides having a long way to go, is that the first lemon meringue pie I tried looks more like snot pie. The light yellow turned moss green!
Hey there! Did you use much translucent in your mix? I use at least 50% translucent thoroughly mixed into everything I make.
It might be the reason for the mossy colour. I have never been able to make a nice pie, that’s one of my goals for the future!
Oh, gosh, Amanda! If you have trouble with pies, I need to just give up!!! i did use translucent mixed with the light yellow Fimo but when baked, it turned the nicest mossy snot green! Don’t know how that happened. i was fairly pleased with the meringue which i made using liquid Sculpey mixed with white and translucent. i also have to work on the crust. So far to go with my very rudimentary attempts!
